More details are emerging in the Boeing 737 airliner that crashed during takeoff Saturday at Denver International Airport (DIA). The jet was on its way to Houston after having engine trouble that supposedly had been fixed. At just around 6:18 p.m. Saturday evening, passengers felt the plane veer to the left and then felt some bumpiness that many passengers thought was just some turbulence. Then, many passengers noticed a giant fireball. The plane skidded off the runway with its wheels disintegrating and slid into a ravine. Passengers tried to get out of the plane, and the scene was described as chaotic by many of the people on board.

One passenger, Gabriel Trejos, noticed the escape chute in the middle of the plane and made a mad dash for that, with his baby in his arms. Out of the 115 people aboard the 737, 40 were injured, two critically, according to early reports. The cause of the airplane accident in Denver has not yet been determined at the time of this writing.
